Do you have concerns about data residency?
Microsoft is putting those concerns to rest! They’re building two new data centers in Canada.

On June 2nd, 2015, Microsoft Canada hosted a press conference in Toronto, ON. During the conference, Kevin Turner, Microsoft’s Chief Operating Officer, announced plans to deliver locally hosted Microsoft Cloud Services from Canada. This includes the following:

  • Office 365
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Dynamics CRM Online

He explained, “Soon, the Microsoft Cloud will be truly Canadian! This substantial investment in a Canadian cloud demonstrates how committed we are to bringing even more opportunity to Canadian businesses and government organizations – helping them fully realize the cost savings and flexibility of the cloud.”

What does this mean for your company? That’s simple: you’re able to capitalize on the potential of the cloud – having secure, reliable cloud services that let you benefit from:

  • Cost savings: You only pay for what you use – eliminating the need for costly up-front investment in hardware, maintenance, and ongoing support.
  • Accessibility: You have access to data and applications from all the mobile devices your team uses – anywhere in the world, as long as there’s an Internet connection.
  • Peace of mind: You don’t have to worry about technology upkeep or unexpected hardware failures, your systems are continuously maintained, monitored, and patched in the cloud.

Microsoft plans to build two new data centers in Canada, which means those who are hesitant to leverage the cloud due to concerns over data residency can rest assured knowing their data is safe and secure – hosted locally in the cloud.
